We are looking for a Senior Data Science Engineer - Services & Integrations (m/f/x) to join our motivated team in Berlin.
About the role:
Support the evaluation, implementation and documentation of integrations of UP42 with other tools and ecosystems (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS, UP42 SDKs, cloud services etc.)
Create custom geospatial solutions that support internal and external stakeholders, e.g. algorithms for geospatial analytics, stand-alone applications, prototypes for internal services etc.
With the geospatial user perspective, guide and support backend and frontend engineers
Collaborate with the CTO and Product team to align work streams and platform functionality goals
Mentor more junior Python engineers on the team on how to build quality software at scale, define frameworks and best practices, guide external stakeholders
Experience in the geospatial industry and with large satellite image and vector datasets
Advanced knowledge of Python & geospatial tools (rasterio, GDAL, QGIS etc.)
Several years of experience and demonstrated understanding of the full software development lifecycle including testing, CI/CD and object oriented programming
Experience with Docker, APIs, cloud providers
Experience with the ESRI & QGIS ecosystem and plugin development is a plus
Experience with Cloud Native Geospatial (COG, STAC) is a plus
Experience with machine learning & computer vision (e.g. sklearn, tensorflow) is a plus
You like to learn, apply new technologies, communicate with different teams and stakeholders, are solution-oriented but also able to give critical feedback
Experience working in an agile environment
Fluency in English
