UP42 is changing the way geospatial data is accessed and analyzed. Our developer platform and marketplace bring together multiple sources of data such as satellite imagery, weather data, and more—with algorithms to identify objects, detect change, and find patterns. Industry leaders use UP42 to inform business decisions and build scalable customer solutions.

We are looking for a Head of HR / People & Culture (m/f/x) to join our motivated team in Berlin.

About the role:

  • Develop and steer our People & Culture Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, coach and develop the People Team including Talent Acquisition, People Operations and Workplace Management functions and ensure great employee and candidate experience

  • Drive key internal initiatives and projects such as employer branding, internal communication, performance, employee experience and engagement, leadership development, career progression, learning, DEI, etc.

  • Be a trusted business and sparring partner to the Leadership team and all people managers, be a sounding board and coach in all people topics

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on organizational growth, analytics and act as an advisor to employees

  • Own People budget, HC planning & forecasting together with Finance and the team leads

  • Continue to ensure our company growth and development has a solid legal and compliant foundation together with our Compliance Manager and other relevant stakeholders.

Job requirements

About you:

  • Several years of experience as a People/HR Leader with a strong Generalist and Business Partner focus within international startups/scaleups

  • An empathetic and experienced leader who knows how to hire, enable and motivate the team, and sets clear objectives and guidelines

  • Strong track record in leading and growing a tech company through an organic and yet ambitious scaling phase, while balancing growth, retention and stable company culture

  • Influencing, coaching and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to monitor, control and translate figures into strategy and actions; experience in implementing predictive people analytics is nice to have

  • Experience in working in and successfully managing a hybrid working environment

  • Hands-on and humble approach

  • Coaching & Training certification is a plus

  • Excellent communication in both English and German
