Job description

UP42 was founded in 2019 with a clear purpose: to provide quick and easy access to geospatial data and analytics. The developer-first platform grants access to the world’s leading providers of optical, radar, elevation, and aerial data, all in one place, and offers flexible APIs and a Python SDK to help build and scale solutions. Users can search the catalog for existing imagery, or task a satellite to capture a desired area. Whatever the use case, UP42 is the one-stop-shop for all geospatial data needs. Late 2024, UP42 is being acquired by the Neo Space Group.

We are looking for an additional Talent Acquisition Partner (m/f/x) to join the UP42 team in Berlin.

As a Talent Acquisition Partner, your mission is to evolve our team setup and footprint for maximum effect and scalability. The key to success in this role is a combination of your understanding of crucial roles to be hired in a product-centered start-up environment while being able to explore the earth-observation industry trends quickly. Your skill-based talent attraction approach, a can-do mentality and strong communication abilities will be pivotal in building strong relationships with hiring managers and interview committees.

Here is a summary of what you could contribute to:

  • In close collaboration with the Sr. Talent Partner, you will be an active recruitment business partner for the hiring managers by advising on timing, interview techniques, sourcing strategies and structuring the hiring process.

  • By understanding the organisational design, our business model and the UP42 product by heart, you will identify staffing needs and requirements for specific roles while consulting with hiring managers on how to attract talent.

  • You will perform sourcing activities to fill open positions and anticipate future needs

  • You will plan, coordinate and conduct recruitment and selection processes (Interviews, screening calls, internal debrief meetings etc.).

  • You will act as an ambassador for a positive candidate experience.

  • You will support employer branding initiatives and how the company is being represented in various communities.

  • You will support metrics to report talent acquisition efficiency and identify areas of improvement.

  • You will counsel candidates as well as internal hiring teams on corporate benefits, compensation structures, and employment models (incl. Professional employment organisations).

Job requirements

Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:

  • You combine the best of both worlds: A resourceful and positive attitude with a ‘can-do’ mentality that benefits the culture and team.

  • You would describe your expertise with a profound knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, sourcing and employer branding.

  • You bring in an understanding of best-practice selection methods and techniques as well as staying up-to-date on newest trends and methods.

  • A proficient use of social media and job boards based on region and seniority is something you have performed before.

  • You have developed a foundational commercial business acumen to understand the duties and competencies of different roles and departments.

  • Working with an Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and databases is not new to you as UP42 uses Recruitee at the moment. Working knowledge of the G-Suite is assumed.

  • You embody excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to balance decisiveness with empathy.

  • You’re a routined presenter and enjoy educating internal and external audiences.

  • And last but not least: You’re fully business-fluent in English while a second language proficiency is a Plus.

Let us tell you why UP42 is a good choice:

  • Let’s disrupt the industry: You get the chance to shape the state of the art geospatial processing platform and create a completely new planetary perspective.

  • Let’s stay flexible: We practice a hybrid working model - you can choose when to work from the comfort of your home or join your colleagues in our modern office in the heart of Kreuzberg, or even from a global place of your choice up to 90 days per year.

  • Let’s win as a team: We’re an inspiring international team working in a fun and productive environment.

  • Let’s be fair: We offer a competitive salary package and other perks such as wellbeing initiatives, sponsored fitness subscriptions, free Coursera access from the first day on as well as an additional educational budget for your personal development and public transportation discount - just to name a few.

  • Let’s enjoy the good side of life: Gather in regular team events as well as our global company parties twice a year.

  • Let’s think outside of the box: There are challenges and enough space for creativity and taking ownership.

Does this sound like a good next step into your geospatial career? If so, we look forward to receiving your application in English.

We seek to recruit the best talent regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background and/or belief—and strongly encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. We also value more than the skills and experiences outlined in this job description. Even if you think you only fill 60% of the requirements for this role - we would still like to consider your application.
